The Digital Gold wallet is a comprehensive solution for managing your DGD, offering a user-friendly interface and robust security features. In this guide, we will outline the essential steps to send and receive DGD using the Digital Gold wallet, empowering you to take control of your digital assets and handle your transactions with confidence and ease.
If you don't have a Digital Gold wallet yet, please follow this guide to download and install one.
If you want to send Digital Gold to someone, you can send a fraction of a coin, for example: 0.001 DGD. DGD is the currency symbol for Digital Gold.
Step 1: Go to the "Send" tab and you will see "Pay To", "Label" and "Amount" fields among others.
Paste the recipient’s address into the "Pay To" field after copying it, either manually, using a keyboard shortcut (e.g. CTRL + V in windows or Command + V in Mac) or simply by clicking the paste icon on the right side of the field.
Click to access previously sent to addresses/labels list.
Click to paste your previously copied address.
Clear whatever was written/pasted in the "Pay To" field so you can start over.
The "Label" field can be left blank, however you can use it to enter the recipient’s name for your convenience.
The "Amount" field contains the amount in DGD you will send in this transaction. Only check the "Subtract fee from amount" option if you have to for some reason, it is not recommended to do so since you will end up sending less than the amount intended (because the fee will be deducted from the amount the recipient receives, thereby shorting the recipient.
The "Use available balance" button can be used if you want to send the total amount of DGD available in your wallet.
Step 2: You will be required to unlock your wallet by providing your passphrase (if you previously encrypted/locked your wallet which recommended to do so, check this guide to learn how to do it)This is a security measure to confirm that you are performing this transaction.
Enter your passphrase and click "OK"
Step 3: Review and confirm the details of the transaction and click "Send".
Or click "Cancel" if you find any errors and you want to start over.
How to Receive Digital Gold (DGD)
You can receive DGD with your Digital Gold wallet by following these simple steps:
Go to the "Receive" tab
If it's your first time receiving DGD or you want to receive DGD in a new address, click "Create new receiving address" This will bring up a dialog with a QR code containing your new address.
Click "Copy Address" to copy it and paste into the sender's email/chat or where you are communicating.You can also click "Save Image..." to save the QR code image and send it to the sender.
If you want to receive DGD on an old DGD address that you used before, you can find it in your "Requested payment history" list (which is found in the same tab or in Window > Receiving Addresses), just select it from the list and click "Show" which will bring a similar dialog with the QR code and the address you want to copy.
